Now that we are starting to get in the swing of things, the girls are getting some more tummy time. Payton HATES it, but Parker doesn't really seem to mind. They both found the mirror on the activity mat, and it captivated both if them. I need to figure out a way both babies can see it at the same time!
Anyone Else Think They Look Alike?
I've started to be able to get dresses while the girls are awake. But this is typically how it goes:
Parker is fussy and NOTHING I do can help. Payton falls asleep with her paci. And Barrett is running around with my make up brushes. (See them there on the floor?) But we somehow manage to all make it out of the house .... It just takes a couple of hours to get ready!
The girls also went to Life Group with me! Once. It's stressful having two babies with you when your friends are trying to learn and have important conversations! I'm hoping to try again this summer when their aunts can come over and play with them.

We took a trip to Dallas for lunch with Nana, Papa, Aunt Mary, Aunt Rachel, and Uncle Thomas. They did great, slept he whole time, and cuddled with their grandparents. (Barrett was visiting Gamma and Poppy)

One of the things I find difficult about having twins is being able to spend one-on-one time with each of them. I pick them each up individually when they are upset, crying, hungry, hurting, need to be soothed, etc. But just hanging out with one baby at a time is a rare occurrence. So when it happens, we take pictures:

Only Way to Keep Her Calm
People keep asking me if I am starting to see their personalities. Honestly, we spend so much time with bottles, diapers, swaddling, naps, and tummy time ... I'm not sure I've had a second to really pause and think about that. But I have noticed they have different preferences.
Parker doesn't mind getting dressed. Payton cries every time.
Parker doesn't really mind tummy time. Payton hates it. Absolutely hates it.
Payton can put herself to sleep pretty easily. Parker needs to be held or rocked in her Rock 'N Play.
Payton doesn't mind a good headband. Parker HAAAATES them:

Barrett loves his sisters so much. We hear "That's my sister! And she's awaaaake!" and "She's CRYING Mommy" (imagine the word crying overly drawn out) and "Sister is sleeping Mommy?" countless times throughout the day. (Yes, that last one is always a question. Always)
The other day I went to go get Payton from her bed. When I came back in the living room, Barrett was just standing there giving Parker her bottle. He said "She's hungry Mommy. And I'm giving her her bottle. She's going to eat the whole thing!"
Such a Good Helper
Perhaps the biggest news of the month is that the girls have started smiling. Daddy can get the best smiles out of them usually, but I've been successful a few times too.
We also started Mommy's birthday week celebration at Nana and Papa's house. They slept through lunch, presents, and cake. But all the Wilson cousins were able to take a picture before the girls fell asleep.

- how sweet the tops of their head smell when they are snuggled on Mommy or Daddy's chest
- the pure joy we feel when we get baby smiles. (And how we spend most of the time when they are awake trying to get those smile out of them!)
- how much big brother loves and adores them
