In the mornings he plays with his Winnie the Pooh that Uncle Kyle gave him when he was born. He loves the way Pooh Bear's tail rattles and his ears crinkle. Then he'll play in his bouncy seat while I get ready for the day, and he kicks and kicks and kicks ... and looks at himself in the mirror. And then we get to our least favorite time of day .... nap time! One day we'll conquer that.
And in these 4 short months, he has already blessed our lives in so many ways. Each night when I put him to bed, I take a minute to pray for him before he goes to sleep. And each night I'm reminded just what a miracle he is ... and how God showed us just how powerful and almighty HE his. I'm a lucky girl that I have a physical, constant reminder of this everyday. (Now if we could just fix these digestion/sleeping issues!)
Things I don't want to forget:
- the way Barrett's laugh sounds
- how he loves to look at himself in the mirror
- the way his head feels on my shoulder when he falls asleep at bedtime
- how he thrashes his head from side to side to get comfortable in his crib
- sometimes all it takes is jiggling his tummy to make him fall back asleep when we put him in his crib (SOMETIMES! Most of the time we're picking him up and bouncing him in the middle of the night!)
- how my heart melts every time he smiles or laughs at me
- the fact that I can make him laugh just by looking at him and smiling or making a goofy face
- how cool it is that he recognizes his daddy and me has his parents
- that I think it's funny when he snores
- how he tries to grab the bottle when we're feeding him, which usually results in him just grabbing on to one of our fingers
- how he tries to sit up EVERY TIME we set him down: changing pad, car seat, play pen, etc.
- how independent he wants to be!
- the way his hair smells after Daddy bathes him
- how he reaches to hold his daddy's hand while he's in the bath
- and how he's OBSESSED with is feet: looking at his feet, the socks on his feet, holding his feet, kicking his feet. He LOVES his feet.
Happy 4 Month Birthday sweet boy! Like any good Valentine, you've definitely captured Mommy and Daddy's hearts. We love you!
