Now that Christmas is over we can focus on the last few weeks of pregnancy and FINALLY meeting our baby girls!!!
Barrett is cracking us up lately. The things that come out of his mouth never cease to amaze us. I still cannot believe how well he is communicating and how many words he knows. I held up a shape the other day and asked him what it was, and he replied "octagon!" I mean, it was a hexagon, but STILL! I was kind of impressed ~ thank you Mickey Mouse Clubhouse!
And he gets such joy out of making us laugh. When he says something we find funny, he giggles and then follows up with "I make Mommy laugh!" or "I make Daddy laugh!" The smile on his face and the light in his eyes show the joy he feels as we react to his funny reactions and sayings.
I think he loves playing with Mommy and Daddy as much as we love playing with him! Pretty soon he'll have 2 new permanent playmates :)
Funny Faces
He Still Thinks I'm Funny .... Documenting It While It's Still True
Barrett continues to love to read. I find him in his room, sitting in his big chair, "reading" his favorite books over and over. I could cuddle with him all day long and read with him. He loves to point out observations he sees in the pictures, and fill in the familiar words when I pause. He feels like he is reading "with" Mommy. But there is something so heart warming about finding him reading on his own .... Discovering new things in his little world.
Favorite Animal Book
My favorite time of day is post-nap snuggle time. I love snuggling with this little boy!
Not Quite Ready to Wake Up
Big news over the weekend! Baby Nathan was born! Barrett couldn't get enough of him. He wanted to hold, kiss, and hug him nonstop.
Hi Cousin Nathan! We Love You Already!
Baby Kisses
Can't Get Enough!
Watching Barrett with his new baby cousin made me really excited to see him with Parker and Payton when they get here! He was so gentle, and sweet, and loving with the brand new baby. I can't wait to see him with his sisters! He already is so sweet when he puts his hands on my tummy and waits for one of the girls to move. He doesn't wait very long, but if he happens to catch any movement, his little face fills with excitement as he looks at me and says "Baby kick Mommy!" Not positive how much he really understands about what is really happening, but he sure does think it's funny!
We have also been working away on the nursery for the girls. The closet is organized, diapers are put away, but we have not been able to figure out how to arrange the furniture in there. As soon as it's finished I'll post pictures, but it's starting to come together! I think it's going to turn out really cute!
Not Sure These are Both Going to Fit
That's Better
The doctor says that both Parker and Payton are doing great! They are growing big and strong! In preparation for my daughters, I've been buying fun headbands and sparkly clothes and shoes for them to wear. I can't wait to dress up little girls! We think they are coming in just a couple weeks, and we are so excited to meet our girls!
