We had a LOT of eggs to prep for all of our Easter Egg Hunts this year! Last year the twins were barely walking, so they just stood by their baskets while everyone else hunted for eggs. I knew this year was going to be so much more fun for them!
Getting Eggs Ready with Daddy
The night before our first Easter Egg hunt, Payton came down with strep throat. So she couldn't come with us :( But my non-symptomatic kids had a blast!
Parks is Ready to Go!

Getting the Hang Of It
Once she realized she could pick up the eggs she saw ... there was no stopping her!
We Did It!
I May Have Just Promised Her Candy if She Smiled
Lunch With Friends. And a Ninja Turtle
In an effort to have a little Easter Egg fun without more sugar and candy, we did some
Easter Eggs-ercises. I filled some eggs with fun activities for the kids to do outside.
Ninja Kicks Were a Big Hit!
This Girl LOOOOOOVES and Easter Egg Hunt
Showing Sisters How to do Frog Jumps
Taking a Break to Play
This Girl Was the Most Excited about Snack Time Back Inside
And then we finished the afternoon with some Easter Arts and Crafts. When your mom is a teacher at heart, this is what you have to deal with sometimes. Sorry Kids.
These Two LOVE to Color!
When I need a second to get something done, I just set them down with colors and it occupies them for as loooooong as I need it to.
Nothing to do with Easter, Just Captured a Blurry Moment of Pure Joy With All Three Kids
Gamma and Poppy came to spend the night, and they came bearing gifts!
Ok. It Was Just Bubbles and Clothes.
But They Loved Them!
Nana and Papa Came to babysit, and they brought Easter goodies for the kids. Barrett got a dinosaur that hatches out of his egg when you soak it in water. It is ALLLLL this kid talked about the entire weekend. The first thing he wanted to do the next morning was check on his dinosaur.
It's Working!
We spent the rest of the day working on patience.
Every year on Good Friday we go to an Easter Egg hunt and listen to stories about the true meaning of Easter. As much as my kids love the candy they keep getting, they are also starting to understand what actually happened on this historic day. Barrett keeps explaining it to his sisters over and over, and my heart feels like it's going to explode every time. There's just something about these words coming out of the mouths of babes: the honesty, the conviction, the blind faith.
Anyway, this is one of my favorite activities we do each year.
Barrett knew exactly how to work it this year. This might be the first year there wasn't a whole lot of prompting to get him to go pick up some eggs.
See That Bunny In the Back?
I promised her candy if she smiled for a picture.
She Really Wanted that Candy!
Sweet Bunny
These next few pics show our attempt at getting a group shot of all three kids. "Show me your teeth" maybe wasn't the right direction go this time. Payton kills me.
It's Not Too Often I Get A Sweet Pic Like This With My Little Guy
After naps, we spent most of the evening checking on our dinosaur....
The Lions Club in our area hosted another Easter Egg hunt on Saturday. The weather was gorgeous, so even with one kiddo not feeling so well, we grabbed our baskets and headed out! However, the egg hunt itself was more like "The Hunger Games: Toddler Edition," so we sat this one out and enjoyed the rest of the Easter activities.
Super Pumped! Can't You Tell?

Oops! We Made the Same Face.
Maybe she DOES look like me?

I might have promised her candy. Again.

Staying Close To Mommy
Sweet girl wasn't feeling her best. So she stuck my Mommy and Daddy most of the time.
"Mommy! Parker Is Actually HUGGING Me! Look!"
Pretty Room. Pretty Girl.
When You Take Your Kids to The Winery to Meet The Easter Bunny
.... You Take Their Picture by a Barrel
Right?
He's So Excited to Meet the Easter Bunny
And I got a good picture of him. That's a Win/Win
Finally Starting to Perk Up a Little!
Such a Sweet Face
We waiting in line. For a while.
Totally Blurry, But Such a Sweet Moment With My Girl
What Happens When Everyone is Scared of the Easter Bunny?
Mommy Jumps In
We took a little break from the Easter festivities to go out to eat for Mommy's birthday.
My Little Man
This Is How They Tell Us They Want Cake Too!
One last activity before Easter morning: Resurrection Rolls. Barrett LOVED these last year, and it gave him such a clear picture as to what actually happened on that day. He swore to me that he didn't remember making these last year, but then the told me that when the marshmallow disappears, it's just like when Jesus disappeared from the tomb.
He Looked Forward to This All Day
Listenting to Barrett and Mommy Tell Them About Jesus
Already Asking Me If He Can Make More

Mommy's Birthday/Easter/Finally Feeling Better Selfie
We found some Easter Eggs that the Easter Bunny must have left behind.

And then we tried again to get a cute Easter Picture of All Three Kids:
And Gamma and Poppy stopped by to tell me Happy Birthday
We finished the night with an indoor picnic and and movie.
Thank You Nana and Papa for Our Easter Goodies!
Clearly, we love holidays around here. We do Christmas big. Birthdays big. And Easter is big. Our prayer for you three is that one day you trust in Jesus and surrender your heart to Him. That you can learn to depend on Him, lean on Him, and immerse yourself in who He is. Barrett, Parker, and Payton, each of you is a reminder of who Jesus is and what His Promise is to us. One day we will tell you the stories of how God worked in our own lives to bring you to us.
For now, keep singing "Savior of the World" at the top of your lungs in the car. Keep reading (or looking at pictures) in your Bibles during story time at home. Keep asking us to sing "Jesus Loves Me" so that while we sing we can pray that one day you will not only know these words, but trust that they are the truest words you will ever hear.
We love you. Happy Easter!
We had a few more eggs to fill back at home to get ready for the rest of our Egg Hunts this week!
Everyone was ACTUALLY Helpful Doing This!
Must have caught them all in the right mood.

Barrett knew exactly how to work it this year. This might be the first year there wasn't a whole lot of prompting to get him to go pick up some eggs.
The twins are still as different as night and day. Parker took off like she was in charge of the place. She would pick up an egg and shake it while she ran back to her basket. And Payton, well, it took her a little longer to warm up to the idea. (Which is funny because the steals everyone's toys right out of their hands at home!) But you can see her bunny ears shadow in the pictures I took of her sister. She was there. I promise.
See That Bunny In the Back?
I promised her candy if she smiled for a picture.

Annual "Friends Since College and Now We're Taking Our Kids to An Egg Hunt" Picture
The kids went out to lunch with daddy while I went to go have some birthday fun. Going out to eat after the Egg Hunt is another Easter Tradition.
After naps, we spent most of the evening checking on our dinosaur....
...until we decided to dye some eggs! I found this great kit this year where you put the dye in a bag, add the egg, and then massage the egg from outside of the bag. The colors turned out great, and we even got to add a little glitter! The best part? NOOOOO mess! And really, these are probably the best eggs we've ever done.
