Sometimes it's not easy being the big brother when you have two year old twin sisters. So much of our lives revolve around them: their nap schedule, being flexible when they don't understand the game you made up, watching them get all the attention when we go out to run errands, fighting for Mommy and Daddy's attention (especially during dinner when they seem to be preoccupied getting those babies to eat instead of dropping their food on the ground.)
This kid is the BEST big brother though. He wants to hug and snuggle with his sisters all the time. And he tries to help them out when they get upset about somebody else playing with the toy they want, or needing more water, or when they lose their lovies.
And he's just growing up so dang fast. He loves school. And constantly amazes me with what he's learning. I'm so impressed that he can tackle writing his name all by himself. We gave him kind of a doozy! It's long, and some of those lower case letters are hard. He's also, unintentionally, learned how to add and subtract numbers. He loves to play number games on ABC Mouse, and he's putting what he's learning to good use. Yesterday we were counting pepperonis to put on a pizza and he said, "We have 6! We just need 2 more to make 8!" (Whoa. What???) (I know that they are doing this in school also. He's just a little sponge!)
Anyway, here's come of our latest adventures.

One of the things I'm the most astounded by as he is getting older ... is how BRAVE he's getting! He wants to get on the zip line at the playground, feed animals, and try new things. He's still my bashful little boy, but I love that he's getting more confident and willing to try something new.

Barrett has loved riding in the car ever since he was a baby. I think it might be his favorite place to be. When he was tiny, it was the only place that he slept. When he started talking, it was the place where he practiced his ABC's. When he started making connections, it was the place where he started pointing out trains, cows, cars, blue cars, big trucks, etc. Now it is the place where he requests songs (anything from the Cars soundtrack and God's Not Dead), and points out letters on signs that we see. I love having my little sidekick in the backseat.
