We started Easter Week early by filling all of our eggs for all the Easter Egg Hunts we had planned. It turned into a little party. Barrett stuffed all of the eggs with candy we picked out, the twins wore their bunny ears headbands, and Parker loved shaking all of the plastic eggs.
What Are These?
Barrett came down with a fever the next day, and so we took a couple days to rest and get better before the Easter Celebration began.
First on the agenda: Easter Egg Hunt at School. His teacher told me that as they talked about why we celebrate Easter, Barrett was very vocal about talking about Jesus dying not he cross. He's been asking a lot of questions about Easter this year, so this made me very happy that he in remembering the things we are talking about at home

Yummy Treats for the Weekend!
On Good Friday we always go to an Easter Egg Hunt. The kids sit together and listen to the Bible Story about why we celebrate Easter. They kind of half pay attention, but it's still a sweet moment. I love hearing these words spoken over my children. One day it will all sink in. This year, however, the twins insisted on crawling around and checking out other kids' Easter baskets, and we disrupted everybody.

Bible Story Complete and Ready to Hunt for Eggs
While Barrett went to hunt with the big kids, the twins just sat by their baskets and played with some eggs that were close to them. And I took a million pictures. I can't get enough of these two.
And then we went out to lunch with some old friends to celebrate the weekend. This sweet boy was very excited about his biscuits and corn ;)
Later that evening, Barrett and I made Resurrection Rolls. He as been asking so many questions about Easter this year, and he's really starting to remember and comprehend some of our salvation story. He always stops at "Jesus died on the cross," but can't fully grasp what a miracle it is that Jesus actually rose from the dead and is alive. I think making these Resurrection Rolls while telling him the story of Good Friday and Easter really made an impact on him! We anointed his marshmallow (Jesus) with butter (oils) and cinnamon sugar (spices), wrapped it in a cresecnt roll (cloths), and baked it in the oven (the tomb.)

Spoiler: He totally thought the marshmallow was still going to be in there. Just the way he left it
Shocked! This Kid Was Shocked There Was NO Marshmallow Inside!
Then we talked about how shocked Jesus' friends were when they realized he wasn't in the tomb anymore. It was SUCH a great visual for him to start understanding the rest of the story ... what happened AFTER Jesus died.
We dye Easter eggs every year with Barrett. Even though the girls have grown SO MUCH since last Easter, they aren't quite old enough yet to help. But they watched us try out our new experiment this year. We tried dyeing our eggs with shaving cream and food coloring. While the eggs didn't turn out like I had pictured in my head, we had a great time making a huge mess!
Easter morning came early because we had so many fun things to do! The kids loved their goodies the Easter bunny brought while they were sleeping.
Easter Miracle! We are ALL Looking at the Camera!
We figured, what better way to celebrate Jesus being alive than Mexican food for lunch?

A new Easter Sunday addition for us this year was an Easter Party and Egg Hunt. We went to the neighbor's house, and the best part was ... London was there! It's been a while since we've seen that sweet girl.
