We are so fortunate that our kids get the opportunities to travel. I love showing them the world and watching them experience everything through their eyes. California seems to be calling our names a LOT since the twins were born! But really, gorgeous weather AND beach? What's not to love?
This vacation seemed to be the perfect mix of kid activities, beach time, big city time, and all the grown ups enjoyed the amenities of the house and beach town (where we stayed) after the kids passed out for the night.
Our first night here, we realized that we had the most perfect view of the sunset. We spent a lot of time during the week taking in this gorgeous view.

Pretty much girl. That's pretty much how our week went!
Nobody Enjoyed These Moments as Much as These Two Did
I Love a Good Fire Pit
This is where the grownups were after the kids went to sleep. Love California weather.
First stop on our agenda: San Diego Zoo. The kids LOVE seeing the animals so close, and we didn't have to stand in 100+ temperatures to do it!

Couldn't Ever Capture Their Faces! Just Their Backs
The next morning we woke up bright and early to take family photos on the beach. My mom found a photographer we liked, and she was ammaaaaazing with our kids. I don't have any of the official pictures yet, obviously, but we were able to capture a few sweet moment with my girls.
Such a Big World Out There My Littles

I love this Mommy and Me Moment
Later that afternoon we headed to Temecula to visit some wineries. Those of us with kids had to make an early exit. If the weather had been a liiiiitle cooler, the kids would have had a great time playing outside. But it was just too hot.
However, if there is a Wilson Winery, we will always find it. (See California Wedding). So before we left, we took some pictures at our "namesake." (I took a picture of the Wilson family that owns this winery. To the best of my knowledge, we are not related to them. But you never know!)
The Wind Blowing Out My Dress .... I Look Like a Pregnant Lady Wanting Wine :)
Precious Picture of Payton
Thanks Gamma for capturing this cute moment!
The kids wanted to hit the beach again the next morning, so we walked back town to our little neighborhood beach. I mean, nobody was really complaining. We don't get these views at home. Ever.
Whew! Walking in All That Sand is HARD Work!
Beach Babes
I love how these two love each other so much. They are best buds, and it makes my heart sooooo happy!
"Look Mommy! I Can Write My Name In The Sand!"
Look Barrett! You Can Make Your Shadow Look Like a Turtle!
I'm more impressed with a that little trick than the name writing :)
Totally Coordinated on Purpose
We realized all of us were wearing blue once we got down there. I. Love. This. Girl. And anytime we get to have some girl time without kids and boys around ... Well, those times are few and far between.

After a little sand clean up, we headed into San Diego to visit the USS Midway. I learned AFTER we were there that one of the planes was the inspiration for the Dragon logo we are so familiar with. But the kids were impressed with all the planes and helicopters, even without Dragons on them :)
Waiting for Their Turn in the Plane
These Girls Love Planes as Much as Their Big Brother!
Ready for Takeoff!
"I Go See More Pah-Waaaanes Mommy!"
Ok babies. Let's go see the planes

And then I got to eat lunch where the bar scene in Top Gun was filmed. Kansas City Barbecue has the tiniest little bar where that infamous scene took place. Who would have thought that was a BBQ joint?
You've Lost that LOVIN' Feeling. Whoa That Loving Feeling
The parents even found some time to sneak away for a late night dinner with an ocean view. It was PERFECT! The four of us never get to hang out without our kids. So this was a nice change of pace.
Seeesters and Our Meeeesters
Parents' Night Out
Up next: Legoland California and Sea Life Aquarium.
We didn't really know what to expect from this day. Our kids don't looooooove Legos. But I think they all had fun looking at all the exhibits and riding the toddler rides. Legoland actually does a really goo job of labeling "What To Do When You're Two" attractions. That was a big help!

Cousins!!!! In Miniature Land
Daddy and Barrett took off to look at the miniature replicas of Star Wars. The amount of joy it brought to Barrett's heart was immeasurable. I have never seen him so excited. (Well ... until he met the real life characters at Disneyland a couple days later.)
There rest of Legoland day was filled with boats, playgrounds, and the Sea Life Aquarium.

This might be the only picture we got of all 5 kids. And it's of their backs! They were too excited the entire week to be still
AAAAAAAND That's a Wrap!
Next up: La Jolla coastline, Disneyland, the beach (again!), and our last day in San Diego!
