Now that everyone is a little older, it's so much easier for us to leave the house and go on adventures.
So ... We've Been Living It Up This Summer
And Relaxing Indoors
And Playing with Minions?
In order to make Daddy's Birthday and Father's Day extra special, we spent the afternoon making a cake for him.
To start off Birthday/Fathers's Day weekend with a bang, we got to stay up late to go see fireworks!
Notice there are no pictures of the actual fireworks. The twins were NOT impressed, and we were working hard to make sure they felt safe.
On Matt's actual birthday, we went out to eat at one of our favorite places in Ft. Worth. HG Sply Co never disappoints. AND the Ft. Worth location is right on the river. The kids were super sweet and let me take all kinds of pictures.
"Twoooooo Sisters!"
Hugs for Daddy
Matt's Mini-Me

The love this kid has for his dad is something else. The fact that they are clones of each other makes their bond even cuter ;)
Kisses for Daddy
Next up on the Summer Of Fun Agenda: Swim Lessons
Everyone was veeeerrrry excited about the idea of swim lessons. But the reality was a different story.
All Smiles Before The First Lesson
Finding Courage Before Lesson #2
Pep Talk From Big Brother
All Smiles ....
.... Until THEIR Lesson Actually Started
As the week went on, they were a little less scared each day.
Payton and her accessories have been cracking me up this summer!
As we are getting closer and closer to kindergarten in just a few weeks, I'm trying to soak in the last few moments of his "baby years" before elementary school starts. One afternoon he said, "Mommy, why don't you bring your book into my room, and we can read our books together during rest time?"
Snuggles with My Boy and a Book ....
I can't think of a better way to spend the afternoon
We also took some time to see a movie under the stars. Sometimes it's nice to just spend a little one-on-one time with this little guy.
Filling our days can be tricky sometimes in this heat! We found a great, shaded area with a Farmer's Market and a Train Museum that was inside.
When we got to the Farmer's Market, the kids got a little science lesson about how jewelry is made from rocks. The girls are a little young to even start to understand this concept, but Barrett was soaking it all in like a sponge. I love watching his brain work.
I'd say the train museum was a big hit! They LOVED it. They played with the model train, the life size train, iPad games, read books, and dressed up. So much fun!
We had SO MUCH fun .....
We Brought Our Cousins Back a Few Days Later
We also started our annual summer birthday party tour! We make the rounds during the summer months! There was even another birthday party that I didn't get a chance to take pictures of because we were doing arts and crafts. My kids LOVED it!
Critter Party ...
Skate Party ....
This all seems like a good idea!
Until He Hit The Rink
We Found a Solution
And Pizza Always Helps ;)
Cousins' birthdays, a unicorn party, and a bowling party are next on our birthday party list! We love a good birthday!
We also found lots of treats to eat this summer!
Our Tongues Turned BLUE
His Did TOO!
Braum's Ice Cream:
A North Texas Treat
Coming here always makes me think of visiting my grandma
Helping with Dinner
Gotta balance out all those sweet treats!
We found a VBS in the area that will take preschoolers!
Showing Muscles for Sports Camp!
And the girls tried on their ballerina clothes for their upcoming Princess Dance Camp.
I gotta be honest - I had a REAL moment when they put these tights and leotards on. THIS was what I pictured when he doctor said "It's two girls!" Can't wait to start this little adventure with them!
