Barrett is 12 months old. I can't believe it!
We have had a year filled with such joy, I don't think I will ever find the words to describe it. We also had many sleepless nights, dirty diapers, unexplained crying, and lots of spit up. But this little guy has forever changed our hearts and our lives. I never knew love could run this deep. And there is nothing in the whole world that I would rather do than take care of my sweet boy every single day.
Here are some of our favorite pics from our last monthly photo shoot ever!
And then I had to jump in on the action:
Things I Don't Want to Forget
- how funny I think it is when he says " no no no" to me. And he keeps doing whatever I told him not to do. I know by this time next year that will probably drive me crazy!
- how he drops everything and heads to the door (as fast as he can crawl) the second he hears the door open when Daddy comes home from work
- the expression in his eyes when he smiles at someone
- how he loves to "read" his books
- the excitement we feel when he "walks" us us. We still have to help him quite a bit, but the determination is there!
- rocking him to sleep every night, while he is laying on my chest, giving me the biggest bear hug
- splash time during bath time
- how he says "ba ba ba" and waves to himself every time we leave the house
Current Barrett-isms
Signing "more" EVERYTIME he wants food ... not just when he wants more food
"no no NO no no no no" (in a sing songy voicee) = no
"ma ma MA ma ma ma ma" = mommy
"da da da da da da da da" = daddy
"dOOOOOOO" = down
"yeeawww"/ "ya" = yeah
"baaaw" = ball
"caw caw caw" = car
"goh goh goh" = go (especially when he sees a car driving down the street)
"ba ba ba ba" while waving to himself = bye bye
