Birthday Weekend started with a visit from Aunt Lindsey, Jordan, and Gamma. Aunt Lindsey taught me you can trade in the toy for an ice cream at Chic-fia-A, and so the kids enjoyed a yummy birthday treat. Who knew??

Ice Cream with Jordan
The twins really wanted to take Barrett and Jordan to the park. So we loaded up the "big kids" in the wagon and the babies in their stroller, and off we went!

These Two: Too Cool for School
Barrett had SO MUCH fun playing with Jordan. Usually he plays by himself at the playground, so this was really a special treat for him.
All the Kids on the Slide
We waited all night to see how the weather was going to impact our Pumpkin Path Birthday Party Plans. Thankfully, it wasn't too wet for us to enjoy the outside and play with the pumpkins.
Well .... Most of us did anyway:
Having So Much Fun, Her Headband Twisted all the Way Around Her Head
Screamed Until She Finally Fell Asleep on Daddy
Aunt Rachel and the Birthday Boy
Mommy, Aunt Lindsey, and Jordan
Barrett and Willow
Once everyone arrived, we took a hayride to feed some cows and donkeys.
Not Everyone Loved the Cows Though
I don't blame him.
The rest of the party was filled with fun and presents and cupcakes...
Until we tackled the corn maze ...
Started Off As an Adventure
It Was So Much Fun!
We Stopped and Posed for Pictures
Until we got lost.
Then it quickly turned from fun to frustration:
Trying to Google Map Our Way Out
These Two Were Leading the Way .... This May Have Been Or Problem
While we were stuck in the maze, the twins were still in their party moods:
Still Smiling, Headband Still Rotating Around Her Head
Daddy and Payton: Just Sitting There Waiting
Finally Making an S.O.S. Call For Someone to Come Look For Us
The Welcoming Committee Waiting at the Exit
Family Pumpkin Patch Photo
Most of us are looking at the camera, and those who KNOW how to smile are smiling. I'll take it :)
We spent the rest of the weekend playing with our Little Man. We took him back to the park with Daddy and his sisters for some after nap fun.
Learning the Art of the Photo Bomb
Selfies with Daddy
Matt stayed home Birthday-Eve to take Birthday Boy to the fair.
We spent most of the time trying to not get blown away. But the food and the animals were a definitely a highlight!
His actual birthday fell on a school day. So he got to have a donut part at school and spend the day with his new friends.
After Daddy got home from work, we took Barrett to his favorite pizza place for birthday dinner.
And then one more sweet treat from Daddy before his birthday was officially over
Sweet Boy ~ We love you so much. You have grown and changed so much in the past year, and we love watching you turn into a little boy. Last year on your birthday, we knew your family was going to change in a huge way: Mommy was pregnant with your twin sisters. And we wondered what kind of big brother you were going to be. We knew you would be a sweet Big Brother, but neither one of us realized just how much you would love and adore you baby sisters.
We love the way you scrunch your face when you say, "What did you said?"
We love the way you wake up with bed head sticking straight up, walk out of your room with sleepy eyes, holding lovey in one hand and tiger in the other.
We love the way you snuggle with your sisters when they are drinking their bottles.
We love the way you sing along with the radio in the car. Especially Frozen.
We love watching you try to tell a joke, that only you think is funny, and then crack yourself up.
We love the way you ask for a "butter sandwich" (peanut butter and jelly) everyday for lunch and dinner.
We love the way you try to pack your own lunch for school.
We love your giggles when Daddy tickles you or when one of your sisters smiles at you.
We love the way that you are the only one that can make your sisters laugh really hard just by playing with them.
We love the way you sweetly stand my our side, look up with those big, blue eyes, and gently ask "Did you want to play with me?" (Yes buddy. I always want to play with you. The answer is always yes.)
We love the way you answer questions with a sense of humor and don't even realize you're doing it. (Like when Daddy says "More importantly, don't you have the best Mommy?" you replied "Well. More importantly needs to put my sunglasses back in the car.")
We love the way you insist on eating an apple "like a big boy." Those apples look so big in your tiny little hands, but you love every bite.
We love the way you ask for "carrots and tummace." (Hummus)
We love the way you like to stir anything that we make in the kitchen. If there is stirring involved, you seem to find your way on top of the counter with a spoon in your hand. (Or anything that could possibly be used as a spoon!)
We love the way you try to say "granola bar." I'll have to explain this to you someday ... It's so funny I can't even write it down!
We love the way you say "Mommy/Daddy watch THIS!" and then flop over on the couch. A hundered times in a row.
We love the way to explain that your sisters want to do something as a way of telling us you want. ("Mommy, Parker says she wants to go play outside."
"Mommy, Payton said she wants to sit by ME in the car.")
"Mommy, Payton said she wants to sit by ME in the car.")
And we love you!
To the moon and back.
We love your sweet nature, you're loving heart, and your sweet smile. Happy Birthday Barrett.
