California

Our trip started with 2 very nervous parents, 1 very excited toddler, and 2 twins that had no idea what was coming.  What was all the fuss about? Our first plane ride as a family of 5.  Come to find out ... We has every reason to be nervous!

Freaking Out
Walking into a closed container that is about to zip through the air for 3 plus hours with nowhere to go ... Nowhere to hide my little people if they get cranky

We each found a moment of peace with the twins, but it was just a moment!

The next day we ate .... and ate .... and ate.  The "big kids" spent they day at brunch while he grandkids stayed with Gamma and Poppy.

And then we headed to Monterey to visit the aquarium.  Barrett LOVES the aquarium, and this was Jordan's first visit.  It was SO FUN watching the kids soak it all in.

We ate at a little place that had this cool chalkboard wall that you could write on:

After naps and some downtime, we all headed to dinner to celebrate Gamma and Poppy's anniversary.  The twins were in rare form, so we didn't get a chance to take a picture of EVERYBODY.

Barrett spent a very special day with us the next day.  We took him to San Francisco to see the sights.  But first, we had to make a pit stop at Apple Headquarters for Matt.

Just as Excited as Daddy!

On the drive to San Francisco, we all had to decompress from our Apple Adventure.  Matt was excited about getting to visit his dream place, and Barrett was excited about his new Apple cup and stickers.  I love those boys :)
Once we got to San Fran, we took pictures all around the city.  We tried to see as much as we possibly could in just one day.
Lunch at Fisherman's Wharf .. Do All These Pictures Look the Same to You Too?
This was the only way we could convince him to take so many pictures with us.

(Not the most flattering of the little one and me, but he was so cute and wouldn't stop hugging me!  I loved it!)

Our "Special Seat" on the Pier Carousal
This was the only seat he wanted to sit on.  I think the horses, dragons, and bears kind of scared him. Matt waited on the side while we rode the carousal, and each time we passed by him, Barrett would yell out "PAAAAAAANTS" right in his Daddy's direction.   Why?  Because that's his favorite word.

"Everywhere you look ..."

While we were off playing with our boy, the twins stayed with Gamma and Poppy.
Playtime with Our Cousin

Taking a 2 year old to the beach was so much fun!!  I told him it was ok to throw sand, and I thought he was going to explode with happiness.
