Two Weeks to Celebrate Two Twinkies Turning Two

These two sweet peas are the cutest two year olds I know!  And I love birthdays ... so we spent the past two weeks celebrating these girls turning TWO!
Warning: This is quite lengthy!  We had lots of celebrations and lots of pictures!!!!

First we went to Gamma and Poppy's house to celebrate with a mini party.  And cookie cake.  (That was probably more for me than the birthday girls!)

Happy Birthday Twinkies!

The next day was GORGEOUS so we all played outside before we had to come back home.

And of course, in true Barrett Family fashion, when all the kids are together we have a photoshoot!

Every single person is looking at the camera.  Seriously.  How did Gamma do that?

The next weekend, the twins' actual birthday weekend, we visited the Perot Museum.  The kids had waaaay more fun than we even expected!  We will definitely be back to visit again!

One of Barrett's favorite parts of the day was probably racing the T-Rex:

And our last stop inside the building was Animals!

I get that I'm a teacher nerd.  But man! Watching these kids learn and discover so much during our museum visit was so much fun!  I can't wait to go back when they are a little older when they can do even more activities there!

We tried to capture one last birthday moment picture before we left:

It's Our Birthday!?!?!?!

I tried to avoid the frogs outside before we went in.  Partly because it was so cold.  But mainly because the girls love frogs, and they like to point at them and yell "frog!!!"  Only, it doesn't sound like that.  It sounds like "f$#%!!!"  But, we made it through without any embarrassment.
And the kids loooooved playing on the frogs!

And on our way back to the car, this kiddo got to play a little music:

Next on the agenda: The Wilson Family Birthday Celebration.
I think there are seven January birthdays in the Wilson family.  So we got to celebrate a LOT of birthdays with this side of the family.

Matt and I were a little worn out from all the birthday fun, so on Birthday Eve we had a movie night and an inside picnic!
We watched Cinderella with the girls for the first time.  After they ate, the kids came and snuggled with us while we finished the movie.  It was the perfect way to spend the last night while our littles were still 1!

Finally!  Their actual birthday came!  We started the day with some birthday donuts!

One twinkie was a mess and the other one stayed totally clean!

Once we were dressed, and still on a sugar high, we went to the aquarium.  I love going there when it's not crowded!  The kids just run around and have the best time looking at all the fish!

 "Monster Mommy!  Monster!!!"
Lobster is what she was going for there.

Who knew we would ever be able to play outside on the girls' birthday?  This weather is not what January is supposed to feel like!  But we love it!

I tried all day to get a cute picture of the girls in their little birthday outfits.  You can see how well that went:

And to finish our big birthday celebration, we ate dinner at Chuy's and then came home for cupcakes and presents!

Happy Birthday Little Twinkies!
I can't imagine what life would be like if I wasn't a twin mom.  And I can't imagine what this family would be like without each of you.

Parker, you are the best playmate for Barrett.  You're little giggle is infectious and your smile lights up a room.  You have an excitement for life that I hope you never lose!  You love to explore and you LOVE to read books with Mommy. And you're still my little snuggle bug.

Payton, you keep everyone in the family in line.  If I tell your brother or sister to stop doing something, you are always right behind me echoing the same thing.  Just to make sure they heard me!  You like to be independent and do things yourself.  "I do it Mommy.  NO! I do it!" You LOVE to play dress up.  And I'm pretty sure that Mommy is still your favorite person in the whole world.

Big changes are coming in the next year!  You're going to start preschool, probably dance or gymnastics, and you're just going to get more independent.  But baby girls, I am going to keep you as close to Mommy as I possibly can.  I LOVE YOU BOTH.
